Good gameplay, overall poor experience.

If you have ever played any Ratchet and Clank earlier in the series, you should know exactly what I'm talking about.

Ratchet and Clank has been a premiere title for the PS2 and it made it's jump to the PS3 with little graphical flaws(it's now in HD). The true issues come from the little amount of upgrades and weapons available compared to earlier titles. Killing enemies levels up your weapons, but all it does is upgrade the damage or shot distance. If I remember correctly, the previous games had drastic visual changes after every few levels. They also included much more interesting guns.

In short, the platforming was fun, but also nothing was fresh. The team has made no advancements other than graphics, shown by the way the platforming was handled.

You can tell this title was rushed for release; the epic boss battles we've come to know and love are practically non-existent; and the weapons are mediocre with similarities to guns from other titles. (ie. a Shotgun just with better particle effects)

In other R&C's, I was thrown aback by the quality of the story. Here, the story is linear and played out (save the girl). There is some side story that actually goes somewhere with Clank towards the end of the game, but the ending just proves that Insomniac wants you to pay big cash to see what happens next.

After finishing the game, it felt like a very unrewarding experience. The guns' leveling had only small changes until the gun was fully upgraded. There were even special tools introduced that asked you to play a minigame to progress further. These tools were only used a couple of times throughout, so it would have made sense to just leave them out altogether.

I was just hoping for fresh platforming, new guns, and great story. (especially after all the great reviews for this game)

If you were planning on paying $60 (premium price) for this. At least wait until it goes greatest hits because paying full price is completely unacceptable.

Best PS3 Platform Game.

I am not a big fan of platform games, hopping around doesn't usually excite me unless I am playing COD4 and I am landing on my opponent with a knife.

This game is all around fun! It is good for all ages, and the cinematics and story are very entertaining. I first played this game for about 30-60 minutes thinking, okay so what is the big deal here. Then all of a sudden a few upgrades and a new weapon later, it turned into a ton of fun.

I finished this game and am playing it again on Challenger mode. It is a blast!

I give this 5 stars no problem. If you like platform games at all, you will love this one.

A Masterpiece!

What an incredibly fun and gorgeous game! This game fully leverages the power of the PS3 and sets the bar high for games to come. The game is very stylish and the humor is at every corner. A great platforming game and one of the PS3's masterpieces.

It might be a tad bit easy for expert gamers (allowing for a broader audience) but the replay value more than makes up for it.

Get this game now, you wont be sorry.
