Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 Review for Wii

4.0 / 5.0

When I first saw this game, I thought it would just be another WW2 shooter. I was proven wrong.

The multiplayer in this game is HUUUGE, probably the best reason to get it because you can have up to 32 people play in one game and there's no lag whatsoever, unless you have a weak signal (FIX IT!).The one thing that does piss me off is how some people, when playing online, don't die if you use like a full round of ammo on them, and I'm sure it frustrates many other players. Take my advice: ALWAYS aim for their head, it's your best bet, and if you have grenades USE THEM. The framerate stays extremely smooth with 60 frames per second, and even though the graphics aren't the best for Wii they still have plenty of detail. The controls in this game are awesome, maybe even as good as Metroid's. You can adjust the box in the centre of the screen where you can aim without your guy turning.

The single player campaign offers an arcade mode, in which you use the remote as a light gun, or you can play the same levels but actually be able to move on your own. The single player is not the highlight of the game, but if you choose to complete all the levels on all difficulties using both modes of playing, you'll be spending around 6-7 hours trying to beat it. The game is also Wii Zapper compatible with the arcade, online and single player modes. From what I've heard, the Zapper's not that great with this game, but I haven't tried it so I'm not gonna say crap.

If your looking for a solid shooter for the Wii, get this NOW. It's got everything you need from customizable controls to solid online play. Again, the graphics and the single player modes aren't the best, but they're enough to keep you entertained. Even if you're looking just to rent this game, by all means do it 'cause you'll be stuck to it for hours.

video games + live orchestra = Video Games Live

Tonight I had the opportunity to attend Video Games Live, a multimedia show that mainly consisted of an orchestra playing arrangements of video game music while corresponding/complementary clips from each game played on a large screen at the center of the stage. Both the conductor and the show's emcee were video game composers themselves, and the orchestra (not the BSO, but a smaller group) was joined by a very talented Brookline High School choral group. They covered a bunch of games ranging f
