Top of the world, Ma !!

This version of RTK is the best by far in my opinion. To do away with all the melodrama of other critics...this is one is the most versatile of all the series. The "growing pains" of your created character are directly impacted within the RTK world you play in. Lets be for real, what are the chances of a 90 rated free officer offering his services to a new jack?
The concept of getting to know an free officer and building relations was great. The battle scenarios and help/ tutilage through the different characters is another plus. Lastly, the concept of 'observing' first to increase productivity is even greater.
This is the collectors edition for the RTKer who wants to experience true and thorough gameplay.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII

This game could be the best strategy game I have ever played. There is a lot of in-depth political strategies that only get more complicated the higher up the food chain your characters get. I'm guessing that if you looked this game up that you know at least a bit about the series, and that this is the best of the series, though I am yet to play Romance 9. I highly suggest picking it up if you get the chance, and if you really, REALLY like political strategy games.
The Best Koei Game Ever!!!

The reaon I like this game is because, you get to wander, enlist, revolt,or unify China!!!When I first got a look at the game,I couldn't take my eyes off of it.You could choose to be a commander,a prefect,a warlord,or you could follow your dreams.I'm saving up my money to buy the game.I can't wait until Christmas than I can play all day long!!!! And like the game says,"Brave souls,Came forth"!
ROTK VIII Review

I have been playing the ROTK games by Koei for several years. And every single time Koei does a terrific job, of adding just enough new aspects to the game play to make me come back for each new installment. If you are new to the series or to Koei games in general, this may not be the best place to start. I myself would recommend starting with more popular, more ACTION-based games by Koei. The first place to go for this is the Dynasty Warriors series. After playing this game, which is based on a Three Kingdoms platform as well, and you like or are interested in learning more about the Three Kingdoms, then play the Romance series games. Dynasty Warriors is far more attention getting and far less involved. Romance on the other hand is all strategy. If planning is your forte then check these games out. DW (Dynasty Warriors) are the types of games anyone can pick-up, spend 10 minutes playing and like. Romance forces you to get involved and take time to truly enjoy the game.

Overall if you are a fan of the Three Kingdoms you will enjoy this game. It's deep, rewarding, and fun.
I'm gonna buy the book now!!

This game had me hooked for quite awhile. I first rented it just awhile back (I never played any other ROTK or DW games) and loved it. At first I made my own officer becuase I didn't know it was based off a book. It took me awhile also to learn the tactics to use against other people. After I returned it I rented it a day later becaused I loved it so much. Then I rented DW 4, which I thought was the hack & slash version of ROTK 8. I'm waiting for Christmas for someone to get it for me but until then I'll be paying Family Video to rent it.
It had some what poor graphics, but the addiction made up for it. In another review someone said the music was just a loop and annoying. The music repeated but it set the mood for the game. With some long songs it (the mood setting) would of been lost. You would of listened to it for musical purposes not BACKGROUND (BACKGROUND!!) purposes.
It was a little slower but you need to learn how to wait sometime or another.
Over all it was a wonderful game. Rent then Buy! (Just to see if you like it). Check out DW 4 and the Book(s) too!
