A good RPG.

I found this game very fun to play. It was an original plot line and the characters were on a different side of the story. Instead of fighting the air pirates, you play them. I took off one star from my rating because I really dislike giving orders to your party instead of the hands on action format. Other than that I can find no more flaws in the game and recomend it highly.
^_^
Great RPG

Yeah, complain about the random battles and dated graphics.
Who cares? This game is fantastic. The storyline is great, the humor is great. Every new ship expansion or base upgrade will cause you to smile. Every new discovery feels like a real accomplishment. This game is excellent. If Tales of Symphonia is half this good, I may never need another Square RPG again.
The best RPG I've played since Chrono Trigger

I definitely would rank this game up there with Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. It is very similar to Final Fantasy IV in it's style, very linear with a few side quests, and fixed party members (for the most part). The story is amazingly well done; enthralling, but, unlike many RPGs, not convoluted. The ship battles are a lot of fun, and feel very epic. The regular battles are about average; unfortunately it doesn't have the active battle system like FF games, which slows the pace of battles down a bit too much. The story pace is very fast, you could probably play the game straight through without needing to dedicate time for leveling up. In the end it took me about 45 hours to complete, doing a significant amount, but not all, of the side quests. So in conclusion, buy this game if you like RPGs, no question about it.

i though this game was pretty fun. its got all the RPG elements... magic, gaurd, attack. and side quests. if you have a game cube you should DEFINATELY pick this game up becuase unfortunately, for gamecube, RPG's are limited. i personally would pick it up for any system becuase i loved this game. the graphics cold have been a little better. the only thing i could complian about would be the facial expressons- not too great. But the G-cube made it smoother and more 3D. The ship battles, hoever, looked amazing no matter what anyone says. the extra side quests were cool like the bounties. asicallly what they are is evil pirates tah have rewards if you beet them. some people complain that it's too hard but its only hard if you don't know whaty your doing. you need to use magic. take advatage of the spells increm and drilnos. use items instead of magic. buy new weapons. exip new items- dont keep the same thing eqiuped the hole game. look for tresue chests they help alot!
Total RPG:)

I loved this game, it was everything I wanted to have and more! You start out as Vyse, a young air pirate in the world of Arcadia. Vyse and his friend (of girlfriend hee hee)Aika are wandering about with Vyse's father, Dyne. All of a sudden, a Valuan ship appears (the main enemy in the game)and Dyne attacks that ship. After the Valuan ship is defeated, Vyse finds a mysterious, unconscious girl on the ship. They take her back to pirate isle (their home)and she tells them her name is Fina. Your adventures start when you and Aika go onto another island to find a crystal that fell there. While you are gone, Pirate isle is attcked and Dyne, his crew and Fina are taken by the Valuan empire. You have to save them and find out who this girl is, then defeat Valua. Adventure after adventure, you think you faced the final boss, but then another one pops up and another and another, until you realize you are only half done with the game! Very addicting and fun RPG to play, no extra-long cutscenes and hidden blah-blahs, just straight forward and a plain, good old game.:)
