One of the worst games in history

1.0 / 5.0

I'm not a fanboy of some other MMORPG. I have World of Warcraft and have played it for about two months on and off. I've found it extremely boring in many different ways and the fact that you must purchase the core game along with paying a $15 per month / $180 per year / $360 per two year subscription fee makes it even worse. No way am I going to spend that on a game! I've already spent about $50 to play it for two months and spent hours downloading patches that never functioned properly. There is server maintenance that gets very annoying and happens frequently along with patches that download via a P2P system at an extremely slow rate and everything else is just annoying.

The community on World of Warcraft isn't that great. People are rude and won't help you. The game play is alright, but I found it a bit confusing and awkward after I went to Darkshore and Westfall. The quests are extremely boring since they all involve "bring x number of item x to me" or "kill x number of this monster". You can't easily click to travel like you can with Guild Wars. Walking from city to city and town to town is horribly annoying and dreadfully long and boring.

I can't see how people can end up addicted to this. Don't buy it. Go for a better game like Guild Wars or Pong.

Been playing MMo's for years....

1.0 / 5.0

And this one is pretty, and way to easy. In one day I made 15 levels. That's ridiculous, there is no catch to this game besides grind, grind, raid, raid and heaven forbid you aren't in a guild.
For all the hype it seriously lacks depth.

World of Repetition

2.0 / 5.0

I bought WoW in the summer of last year, and have stopped/started my account once, and am finally cancelling my subscription altogether for a number of reasons.

First of all, the game itself lacks in almost every department compared to other MMORPG's. There are only a certain amount of monsters that are used over and over in different colours and sizes, which is completely ridiculous and lazy of the designers to do in the first place. The quests, although slightly different, are mostly all the "go kill X of this", "go bring back Y of these". It's boring. Every now and then you'll find an interesting place to level up or very different scenery, but for the most part, it all seems fairly "typical".

My other major problem with this game is that it is targeted at a very young audience, therefore any groups or people you talk to are far younger than the average MMORPG player. I'll be moving onto something a little more adult, like Lineage 2.

Great game...long installation

5.0 / 5.0

I've been resisting this game for quite some time now (almost a year). I had played, and loved it...but wasn't too fond of the monthly fee. Well I finally gave in after being harassed by many friends who have been playing for ages. I got the game and started the install. I figured 5 cds wouldnt be too bad...it still took over 45 minutes to install (and no I do not have a slow pc). I finally created my account, log in...lo and behold...a 500meg download...which took about 5 hours... (again no my connection is not slow 5meg/sec in theory). The slowness was caused by there interface...not my connection.

If your patient enough to install this thing and dont mind the monthly fee, your in for quite a ride. This is by far the best ever MMORPG. I've played guild wars figuring it was free and was disappointed. Nothing compares to the level of community and the sheer size of this game. If you only ever play one MMORPG, make this the one...you wont be disappointed...

SO good.... but it'll steal your life

5.0 / 5.0

I can't say enough good thigns about this game, it's non-stop amazing fun, beautiful graphics, creative quests, and it never gets boring... but here's the catch: you'll love it so much you'll never do anything else. Your friends will see you less, and you may end up like my boyfriend, up all night raiding villages, and sleeping thru final exams.. Soooo... buy it, play it, but consider yourself warned and play with caution - but again.. amazing game!!

Biting the Bullet - The Tale of my Second Broken Xbox 360

As I posted on my blog on my GameSpot profile, my Xbox 360 has once again taken a one way trip to the afterlife. I knew the end was near once I saw a mosaic of green dots covering the screen during games, as seen in the quick video I captured below. Here’s a small portion of what I had to say on my GameSpot blog. As you can see, my Xbox 360 has decided to die once again. Great. This time, a fried graphics card seems to be the culprit and when I tried to turn the system on yesterday, I got
