Description
Train Simulator takes the obsessive realism of Microsoft's best-of-breed Flight Simulator games down to earth. Six real-world rail lines are included from throughout history, including the Flying Scotsman line of 1920s England and the modern Odakyu Electric Rail commuter line in Tokyo. Attendees at the National Model Railroad Association's August 2000 convention marveled at the game's painstaking attention to detail. But this game is not a model railroad game; it simulates the real thing. The game's developers traveled across the world with cameras and microphones in order to authentically capture the trains in their natural habitats. Train Simulator lets you experience the world's greatest trains in all their glory.
Train aficionados can drive the train, run the rail yard, or dive in with the terrain editor and create the rail lines of their dreams. Or you can just sit back, relax, and admire the beautiful scenery and dreamy click-clack of the tracks. --Andrew S. Bub

Microsoft Train Simulator

I reallyyyyy want this game, but I have Window's XP...would this game not work on my computer since I have Window's XP ?
I realllyyy wanna know, lol.
Superb Experience - Gotta love Trains

I totally agree with the Customer from Idaho and others - it really gives you a real life experience, and can be an "addictive" experience
I run it on Windows 2000 and have no problems of downloading and crashing. I hesitate to say but have the impression Windows XP doesn't have enough "steam" for it. Also you need a good graphics/video card. My real joy is driving the steam trains - Deisels don't have the same degree of difficulty - !!!! Ever slid back down a steep grade or gone nowhere with a Deisel.
Microsoft Train Simulator

I don't know; or can answer for anyone else but I love Train
Simulator form Microsoft. The only problem is it works great
with Windows upto and including ME; problem is when will there
be and up dated version for our WINDOWS "XP" and including with
it all of the add ons for WINDOWS "XP"; MS Train Simulator.
Microsoft Train Simulator

Great concept - wonderful game - but.... the game crashes everytime you play and takes forever to download - so where are the brilliant IT guys that created it. And guess what, when you call for assistance, they have absolutely no concept of how to fix the problem. This game has so much potential too bad it doesn't work. How about recreating the game ... and, oh, let's see, can you make it work this time, so it doesn't crash your system.
Chuga Chuga Klunk

Installation problems were not too bad, but it appears that Microsoft's remedy for its created monumental boredom is to arrange periodic system crashes to wake you up. After several of these experiences I uninstalled this fiasco and added it to the other accumulated trash in my waste basket.
