Classic Sonic game....

Sonic the Hedghog is easily one of the most original games to ever come out on a console system besides GTA3...
The games plot it acctually good for a 8bit-16 bit game!
OH MY GOD AND GAMEPLAY! IT RULES! The level desighns are great and the graphics for that time are SUPERB!
The gameplay is fast pace and not boring nd' slow. It's easily one of the best games I've ever played.
Sonic the Hedghog for the Sega Genisis is A MUST OWN for your genisis collection. I have Sonic 1 and 2 for Genisis in my collection...NOWS YOUR TURN...Course that may be something stupid to say since it came out like when...1992...So forget what I just said and Order it off amazon...But if your looking for per say...mmm "the Greates Sonic Game Ever"...Then get Sonic Adventure one for the Dreamcast....
If you have a genisis then you should be lucky if you own this game...It's a classic ..
I give it a 5 out of 5....
Later...
As great as Mario!!

I remember back in the Christmas of 1991, my brother got a Sega Genesis+Sonic as a gift. I was mad because I only got a GameBoy+Tetris as a gift. My anger turned into sadness when I got ill throughout the day. That night, my brother was playing Sonic and was frustrated because he couldn't beat Dr. Robotnik in the first level. I asked if I could try and I beat Robotnik in the first try. Ever since then, I cherished this game. I played it for years and years, trying to beat it. Finally, in the spring of 1998, I beat Dr. Robotinik in the "Final Zone." Ever since then, I used the Game Genie with Sonic to make the game easier. I loved every aspect of the game. I remember all of the levels. They were Green Hill, Marble, Spring Yard, Labrynth, Starlight, Scrapbrain, and the Final Zone. My favorite level was Spring Yard because the design of the level, colors, and music filled me with euphoria up the wazoo. Too bad that my cartrage is dying on me. Sega outta re-release this on XBOX, PS2, and Gamecube. If they did this, they would rake in lots of money while bringing back great memories of the early 90's and having the younger generations experiencing what we experienced. This was equal, if not better than Mario. Buy this game, you won't be sorry!!
What can you say? The original Sonic game remains a classic

Let's see....I think it was the Christmas of 1992 when I first got the Genesis (when it came with Sonic 1 as a bonus pack deal). Let me tell you...this game brings back memories. The gorgeous level designs, the many diabotical machines from Dr. Robotnik (and to think Labyrinth Zone was the only one where you had to keep from being crushed from the bottom as he just moved up towards the top! Pretty clever.), and the MUSIC! Once I found out about the level code, I would spend hours in the Sound Test area just listening to the music. And I loved the special stages (actually when it was easy to get to just by collecting rings and before it went 3-D). Even though I didn't understand what happened at the end of the game after getting the emeralds (new flowers grow in Green Hill....ok?), I guess that was a way of showing peace was restored, though I wish there was more.
Sega should get into the act of what Nintendo is doing now, re-releasing popular games for the GBA. All of the old Sonic games need a re-vamp. I'd love to play Sonic 1 on the Advance. But we'll see. Along with Mario and Mega Man, Sonic proved how fun the world was when it was in 2-D.
Long live the original Sonic the Hedgehog.
An all-time classic that needs to be on CD-ROM!

I'll never forget the christmas of 1992, when I was the happiest six-year-old kid on my street, unwrapping my spiffy new Sega Genesis, and holding two new games: this, and Sonic 2. What fun gameplay and memories I was in for...
As everyone and their mother knows, Sonic 1's plot is that the evil Dr. Robotnik is not only capturing many small innocent animals and turning them into evil robots, but plans to take over Mobius (their planet) and turn it from forests and clean air to factories and smelly air (I'll spare you the New Jersey joke). It is now up to Sonic to defeat Robotnik and make everything right again.
Although Sonic 2 remains my favorite, this is without a doubt a close second. I know the graphics may seem somewhat dated today, but for 1991, this was pretty damn good. Bright, vibrant colors, and great atmosphere (love the city skyline in Star Light Zone). It goes from a bright, sunny atmosphere (Sun Light Zone) to a big industrial factory (Scrap Brain). Along the way, there are various icons that Sonic can smash open, and each one has a special power that Sonic can use to his benefit; 10 rings, super speed, temporary invincibility, a shield, and the holy grail of them all: the 1-up. The game also has catchy music. Okay, it's 2004 now, and we can hear actual bands in our games, but back then, we had video game music, and it was good and easy to tune out if need be. Also, in this game, you must collect 7 chaos emeralds in these weird, spinning worlds, and defeat robot enemies by jumping on them.
It's a fun, classic game that brings back lots of memories for me (I remember how great it felt to finally get to the next zone). IT NEEDS TO BE RELEASED ON CD-ROM! Come on Sega, get cracking!
Oh, and don't think I'm insulting New Jersey or anything. I was born there so there you go.
